Nature-Based Learning Expression of Interest Form

Nature-based learning is rooted in philosophy and pedagogy and is supported by research that underscores its emotional, social and academic merits. I am aware that Langdale Elementary’s classes (grades K-7) are nature-based. By putting forward my expression of interest for Langdale, I am showing an interest in the curriculum being delivered to my child through nature as the learning lens, often in an outdoor setting. I acknowledge that learning will take place in community and outside in nature classrooms – at the beach, in the forest, and nearby parks. As next year is a transition year for us into nature-based learning, I know that the learning community (staff, students and caregivers) will be all learning together as we transition to nature-based primary at our school.
